Independent Development: My Journey as a Bear Developer

IOS

As a developer, I had always been curious about the world of independent development. I had seen the success stories of other indie developers and wondered if I could do the same.

One day, I decided to take the plunge. I quit my job and started working on my own app. I called it "Today's Plan" and it was a simple to-do list app. I worked on it day and night, pouring my heart and soul into it.

After months of hard work, I finally released Today's Plan on the App Store. I was so excited to see it live, but I was also terrified. What if no one downloaded it? What if people hated it?

My fears were unfounded. Today's Plan was a success! People loved the simplicity and functionality of the app. I started getting great reviews and downloads started to climb.

The success of Today's Plan gave me the confidence to keep going. I started working on new apps, including a camera app, a social media app, and a live streaming app. I learned a lot from each project and I started to get better and better at developing apps.

Today, I'm a full-time indie developer. I'm making a good living from my apps and I'm doing what I love. It's not always easy, but it's definitely worth it.

If you're thinking about becoming an indie developer, I encourage you to go for it. It's a lot of hard work, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

  1. Find a problem to solve. What are you passionate about? What do you think would make the world a better place? Once you have a problem to solve, you can start to think about how to build an app to address it.
  2. Learn to code. If you don't already know how to code, you'll need to learn. There are many resources available online and in libraries. Once you have a basic understanding of coding, you can start to build your own apps.
  3. Be patient. Building an app takes time and effort. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Just keep working hard and learning, and eventually you will succeed.
