Starlight is Astro’s documentation-focused framework: you write Markdown/MDX, and it supplies the site chrome—sidebars, search, i18n, and theming. The output is a static site, which fits open-source docs, product manuals, and versioned guides.
It is less “yet another static generator” and more a set of defaults for documentation. Accessibility and localization are treated as first-class, so teams spend time on content instead of rebuilding the same doc-site scaffolding for every project.
